In an oasis of woodland in rural France, surrounded by a sea of conventional vines, Patrick Desplat makes natural wine. Under a canopy of leaves, and wrapped in a chorus of birdsong, plants and creatures find sanctuary in his quiet, gentle daily rhythms. This bucolic way of life comes under threat as towering machines crisscross the landscape around him, showering a synthetic mist in vain attempts to battle an aggressively changing climate, and disrupting the harmony of Patrick’s forest. This is a beautiful, loving mediation on nature and how we choose to live within it.
