While filming a spot for Ford’s Blue Cruise technology, Darien and Theo slipped into a movement and pace that we couldn’t understand. Asking our interpreter she said, “you’re seeing something very special right now—Visual Vernacular”. If you don’t know (and we didn’t) it’s an art form using space, iconic signs, long shots, close ups, fast and slow motion, and role changes to embody different characters, to create a visual poem or narrative.
